Everything You Need to Know About Glamour Modeling
The plain truth is that one of the most important things you must possess to break into glamour modeling which is by no means an easy career is an attractive face. You must have a photogenic face, with pleasant features that are easily accentuated with make up and are an asset to any ad campaign. Unlike other careers to be a glamour model what is on the outside counts way more then what is on the inside.
Do You Have The Body For Glamour Modeling?
As for your body, it must physically appeal to agencies and clients alike. The usual measurements desirable for glamour modeling are a 34B bust line, 22-34 inches for the hips and 22 to 24 inches for the waist. You have to have a slender figure that is able to fit in anything wardrobe can throw at you. The most glamorous designers’ clothes are made to be worn by a thin figure. It may not be what you want to hear but your body must be perfect such is the modeling world and glamour modeling, in particular is held to even stricter standards.
If you already have some modeling experience and have been photographed before, then bring your portfolio on any major interview, make sure it is organized, professional and contains your best work. A glamour model has to excel and really stand out.
Another important quality is that you must be comfortable in your own skin and have no objections to posing in lingerie or even nude as some clients may ask you to do just that. You can’t have any personal hang ups otherwise you will not make it in the modeling world.
If you do indeed make it as a glamour model and get that prized callback, then you must also be able to travel, as models travel all over the world. So if you hate the idea of jetlag or even have a fear of flying, then maybe modeling is not the right career for you.
And the most important thing you must possess to break into glamour modeling is thick skin. You might be rejected; rejection is a big part of life. You cannot let it beat you down, if you do then attainment of your dream of walking the catwalk and gracing fashion magazine covers will be all the more impossible. You are your biggest obstacle; do not let rejection breed low self-esteem and despair – turn it into determination instead. Use it to you advantage to drive you towards your ultimate goal. Just because an agency may reject you does not mean you are not good enough, it just means that you are not what that particular modeling agency was looking for but there are hundreds of agencies and with perseverance and a strong-willed mind you can do virtually anything that you set your mind to.
And if at the end of the day you still don’t find your big break, then maybe modeling just wasn’t meant for you.
